Bright new SolarMAXTM display, beautiful touch and keypad interface, and all the networking you need
NSS evo3 allows you to navigate, take command, and experience an unmatched degree of integrated capability. The combination of an all-weather touchscreen and an enlarged keypad allows for complete control in any environment, while the SolarMAXTM HD display technology provides remarkable clarity and ultra-wide viewing angles (80° top/bottom, 80° left/right). The NSS evo3 has several new features, including as built-in GoFree® Wi-Fi and dual-channel CHIRP sonar
Features:
- A revolutionary improvement in fish-finding technology, FishRevealTM Smart Target Viewing enhances the visibility of fish on DownScan ImagingTM. FishReveal Smart Target Viewing combines the best data from traditional CHIRP views, which provide strong fish targets but lack refined structure detail, with DownScan Imaging, which provides photo-like images of the bottom and structure details but shows fish targets as tiny dots, to do away with the need for split-screen viewing and interpretation.
- Imaging with Improved Sonar Waveforms: Enhanced Sonar Imaging, available only on NSS evo3 screens, provides near-photographic views of the water ahead of and behind your boat. SideScan, DownScan Imaging, and StructureScan 3D may now provide more detailed, high-contrast, and visually appealing photos by taking use of the entire range of colors available. These image advancements automatically boost brightness in darker regions while reducing overexposure in brighter areas, mimicking the way the human eye adjusts for various levels of darkness. This increases the range of visibility, allowing the boat’s occupants to see objects up to 100 feet away, even if they are in the shade.
- Colors for land, docks, anchorage areas, water, and channels are clearly distinguished, and water contour lines on C-MAP maps are easy to make out, all thanks to a recent readability enhancement. The updated color scheme makes it less of a guess as to where the boat is in respect to things like channels, navaids, cliffs, and drops. The palette is also a lot less taxing on the eyes.
- Use the automated route planner for quicker and simpler navigating. This function streamlines the process of charting a course by calculating the quickest and safest path around landmasses, shoals, and other permanent navigational obstacles depending on the boat’s draft, beam, and height. A C-MAP MAX-N+, Navionics+, or Navionics® Platinum chart is needed for autorouting.
MotorGuide Xi5 Trolling Motor Control: Use the touchscreen of your Simrad display to command the Xi5 trolling motor*, allowing you to easily keep your present position or move to a new one without leaving the helm. Choose from a variety of navigational choices, such as traveling to the cursor, a direction, a waypoint, a route, or a pre-defined turn pattern. - SolarMAX™ HD Display: High-definition images that are legible in any lighting situation are only the beginning of what SolarMAXTM HD display technology brings to your onboard electronics. Whether you’re seated or standing, you’ll be able to see everything clearly. Bright LED backlighting and an anti-reflective coating give better daylight visibility; SolarMAX™ HD displays are intended to dependably resist the heat of the summer sun, excellent for exterior installations. These all-climate screens are optically bonded to eliminate fogging due to moisture buildup. SolarMAXTM HD provides the best possible picture in any weather.
- Radar System Control: Use a radar with a wider field of view, such the HaloTM Pulse Compression radar, the Broadband RadarTM, or the HD Digital Radar. Depending on the radar system you choose, the NSS evo3 display may combine with networked Simrad radars to give a comprehensive radar interface with capabilities including simple preset modes, unique manual tuning, MARPA target tracking, guard zones, and overlay views.
- Simrad Autopilot Integration: The NSS evo3 touchscreen and keypad allow you to take full command of your Simrad autopilot. Use the straightforward on-screen controls to set a course, keep going in the same direction despite wind and tide, go to a waypoint, or stick to a complicated itinerary. The NSS evo3 display can operate a “black box” autopilot system alone, or in conjunction with additional autopilot controllers and wireless remotes. Ideal for boats with twin helm stations, a networked Simrad autopilot system may be operated from any NSS evo3 monitor on board.
- Built-in 10 Hz GPS Receiver: The high-gain, high-speed GPS/GLONASS receiver included into all NSS evo3 displays ensures pinpoint monitoring of even the fastest powerboats. Position updates occur ten times per second. This eliminates the need to buy and install a separate GPS receiver in flush-mount installations in many fiberglass boats and in installations using an outside bracket. An external GPS receiver may be used as a backup location source, or in places where the built-in receiver can’t get a good signal.
- Integrated Sounder: Each NSS evo3 screen has a built-in sounder module that provides access to a wide variety of sonar technologies that are ideal for a wide variety of sportfishing and cruising uses. ForwardScan® sonar provides a clear view of the bottom in front of the boat, making for a safer cruise, while StructureScan® HD imagery combines DownScan and SideScan sonar to provide picture-like images of fish-holding structure. Broadband SounderTM technology offers CHIRP-enabled fish-finding sonar, and it is compatible with both the single-channel and dual-channel CHIRP transducers used in the TotalScanTM system. The ForwardScan® and StructureScan® HD sonar systems, as well as CHIRP and conventional sonar, may all be used at the same time thanks to the transducer’s dual ports.
- TripIntel™ Technology: A powerboater’s best friend, TripIntelTM technology keeps tabs on and shows all the vital data you’ll need to have a worry-free and fun day on the water. Fuel range superimposed on maps helps with decision making, as does simple access to present and forecast tide levels and a comprehensive log of all past voyages. In order to maximize range and minimize fuel expenditures, the Cruise Performance Indicator facilitates effortless adjustment of trim and throttle while in motion.
- Refined User Interface: Easily toggle between the touchscreen’s multi-touch gesture controls and the complete keypad and rotary control dial that are also built in. The touchscreen and the keypad both provide access to all display features, providing you the freedom to choose the method of operation that is most convenient under the circumstances. If you prefer a more traditional interface with buttons and a rotary dial, you may lock the touchscreen on the NSS evo3 and use those controls instead.
